PORTLAND, OR — The Human Rights Campaign organization, announced its endorsement of Oregon Governor John Kitzhaber for reelection. The HRC explains the support is based on Governor Kitzhaber’s strong record of support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. The Governor has a history of voting for non-discrimination measures, expanding access to health care, and supporting marriage equality for same-sex couples.
In a statement regarding the endorsement, the HRC said it only endorses candidates who share core values of equality and respect for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
