Blasting, Closures Cancelled On Highway 26

MIRROR LAKE, OR — ODOT’s contractor K&E Excavating has cancelled the remaining rock blasting dates in September.

Blasting was scheduled to take place yesterday and Monday and would have required a full closure of U.S. 26 for an hour both evenings.

Future blasting dates are not expected to begin until early October. ODOT will announce a schedule once it is set.

The blasting is part of ODOT’s U.S. 26 Mt. Hood Safety Project to reduce fatal and severe injury crashes on that portion of the highway near Mirror Lake.
