“Kits For Kids” Given To Local Homeless Youth

DESCHUTES COUNTY, OR — The Presbyterian Women’s group of First Presbyterian Church distributed nearly 1000 hygiene bags to homeless students living in Deschutes County.

The bags, called Kits for Kids, include soaps, shampoo, deodorant, tooth brushes, and other basic toiletries.

These Kits will be distributed throughout the school-year to homeless children.

Last school year there were over 1,200 students identified as homeless within the Deschutes County schools.

Local families who are can’t afford hygiene products are often forced to choose between buying food and basic items.

The Kits for Kids project was designed to support families in a concrete way and take a little of the burden off their struggles through homelessness.
