Crooked River Caldera Virtual Tour Thursday

PRINEVILLE, Ore. — Continuing in the Saunders Memorial Lecture Series, Ochoco National Forest Geologist Carrie Gordon will Thursday speak about the newly discovered Crooked River Caldera.

Straddling three counties, the Crooked River Caldera encompasses 425 square miles, stretching from Smith Rock State Park nearly to Prineville reservoir.

Gordon will give a virtual tour of the immense caldera and its history.

The program takes place at the Bowman Museum Annex in Prineville. Admission is free. Doors open at 6:00PM
