Llamas Found On National Grasslands

MADRAS, Ore. — On Monday, the US Forest Service and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office found three llamas on the National Grasslands.

The llamas were found about 8 miles East of Madras off Grizzly Road.

It’s not known at this time if the llamas were abandoned or if they had wandered off from their home.

For now, the animals are being cared for by the nonprofit group Mustangs to the Rescue.

Veterinarian examinations were conducted, as it appears the animals have been on their own for some time.

Neither agency is aware of any missing llamas and efforts to locate the owners thus far have failed.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office at 541-475-6520.
