It’s Official: GMO Measure Triggers Recount In Oregon

Salem, Ore. – Final unofficial results from the 2014 General Election are available on the Secretary of State’s website: Oregonvotes.gov

A full hand recount of ballots cast on any measure is required if the difference between votes cast for and against the measure is not more than than one-fifth of one percent of the total votes cast for the measure.

“No” votes currently outnumber “yes” votes for Ballot Measure 92 by 809 votes, which is within the margin that would trigger an automatic recount.

The next step is for the Secretary of State’s office to certify that the election results are accurate.
