New Reed Market Road Roundabout Now Open

Bend, Ore. – Thousands of drivers who frequent Reed Market Road may be happy to learn that the new roundabout is in place and open.

The City of Bend says winter weather delayed progress on opening the roundabout. Snow and ice made it impossible to stripe the lanes. With the warmer weather on Thursday and Friday of last week crews were able to complete the work Friday morning. The contractor then did some clean-up, and removed detours signs.

15th Street is now open north and south of Reed Market. The detour on Reed Market west of 15th is still in place.

The City of Bend thanked members of the public for their patience with the project in a very busy part of town. The road improvement is the largest chunk of a 30 million dollar Bond passed by Bend voters a couple of years ago. Bend now has about 30 roundabouts.
