(NEW YORK) — Goalie Cam Talbot agreed to a one-year, 1.45 million contract extension with the New York Rangers that will keep him with the team through the 2015-16 season.
The 27-year-old Talbot has served as Henrik Lundqvist’s backup for the past two seasons. During that time he’s appeared in 28 games posting a 14-9-2 record with a 1.80 goals-against average, .936 save percentage and five shutouts.
During the 2013-14 season, Talbot became the first Rangers goalie to allow two or fewer goals in each of his first seven NHL starts.
