According to an official at the Department of Justice, Holder told those involved in the Public Safety Officers Benefits Program to contact the families of Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos. Holder asked those officials to inform the families about the program and offer assistance in the submission of their claims.

Holder, the DOJ official said, wants the families’ benefits applications processed as quickly as possible.
