Fatal Pedestrian Crash In Klamath County

Klamath Falls, Ore. – Oregon State Police (OSP) Troopers are continuing the investigation into yesterday’s fatal vehicle- pedestrian crash on Highway 66 near milepost 57 in Klamath County.

Preliminary investigation of the incident indicates a white, 2000 Ford Ranger stopped partially on the roadway in the westbound lane and the driver, identified as JOHN PISAN, 89, of Klamath Falls, was outside of the vehicle for an unknown reason. A green, 1976 GMC Sierra pickup, was driving westbound on highway 66 and the driver, identified as JEFFERY T. WOOD, 53, of Klamath Falls, reported not seeing the Ranger or the pedestrian because of sunny conditions and struck both the pedestrian and the Ranger pickup. PISAN was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger of the Sierra pickup were not injured and were wearing seat belts.
