Bend Daycare Provider Arrested On Alleged Infant Assault

Bend, Ore. -01/30/15, the Bend Police Department began a child abuse investigation at St. Charles Medical Center. A three month old female infant was being treated for internal head injuries that were suspicious.

Investigators determined the infant attended a licensed daycare in Bend, owned and operated by Nicole Johansen. Johansen was interviewed and her residence was searched by investigators. Johansen was subsequently arrested for causing the injuries and lodged at the Deschutes County Jail.

The Department of Human Services was contacted and they are taking steps to contact the parents of the remaining children that were supervised at the daycare by Johansen.
