Bend, It was an “explosive” house fire in Bend. The Bend Fire Department tells KBNW news that a neighbor heard some explosions and discovered a house fire- he used his garden hose to keep the flames at bay until the fire department could arrive. The explosions were caused by lighters near the source of the fire. The cause of the fire: Smokers had put cigarettes in a plastic container. Fire officials suggest a metal or glass container filled with sand and water.
The fire was at 20337 Sonata Way in Bend.
The total damage was estimated at 10 thousand dollars.
