Douglas County, Ore. – Oregon State Police troopers are continuing the investigation into last nights fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash on highway 42 near milepost 67 in Douglas County – (It was at the intersection of Strickland Canyon Road and highway 42.)
Early details show that at approximately 11:21 p.m., 18 year old Seth Gunn of Roseburg, was standing in the westbound lane of highway 42 in an attempt to get assistance for his broken down vehicle.
Gunn was struck by a 1990 Ford Ranger pickup being driven by 59-year-old Darrel S. Hanna, of Winston. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Hanna is cooperating with investigators as they do a reconstruction of the crash site.
