Bend, Ore. – A spokesman from Mount Bachelor confirms that a chair fell off of a lift this afternoon on the mountain. Drew jackson says that around 1:15 this afternoon, an empty chair on the Sunrise Express lift detached from the lift cable and fell to the snow a short distance from the lift’s upper terminal.

The chair had just exited the upper terminal and was traveling on the downhill, unloaded side of the lift without any passengers. There were no guest or employee injuries resulting from the incident.

The Sunrise lift was immediately closed for the remainder of the day and Mt. Bachelor personnel began an investigation.

He says they expect to have more information as it becomes available, mostly likely tomorrow morning.
