Lincoln City Man Dies In Crash In Tillamook County

Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers are continuing the investigation into this mornings single vehicle traffic crash which resulted in a fatality on Highway 101 near milepost 100.5 in Tillamook County.

Preliminary information from investigators at the scene indicates that this morning, shortly after 6:00 a.m, a silver Pontiac Sunfire was northbound on Highway 101 near Cascade Head when for unknown reasons the vehicle struck the guardrail and rolled over onto the roadway.

The driver, 57-year-old DAVID KYTE, of Lincoln City, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Early information suggests KYTE was not wearing safety restraints. Heavy rain and speed are being investigated as additional contributing factors in this crash.
