Dirt Bike Crash Injures Visitor

La Pine, Ore. – Deschutes County 9-1-1 received a report of an injury motorcycle crash that came second hand from Lake County Dispatch involving 2 dirt bike motorcycles. The reporting person advised one of the 2 riders was injured needing medical assistance. It happened Friday afternoon.

An investigation revealed the accident was a result of a head on collision. The involved riders were traveling about 20 MPH on the same trail towards each other and were not able to avoid an impact after having about 65 feet of space between them to react.

43 year old male Jason Routley of Oregon City was was transported by AirLink with non-life threatening injuries to St Charles Medical Center in Bend. The second rider wasn’t injured.

Both riders were wearing helmets and advised they had been riding dirt bikes for many years.
