Wild Winger Justin Fontaine Out for Game 2 in Chicago

iStockPhoto/Getty Images(CHICAGO) — Minnesota Wild winger Justin Fontaine will miss Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Chicago Blackhawks due to a lower-body injury.

Fontaine, who scored the game winning goal in the team’s Game 6 series-clinching win over the St. Louis Blues Sunday, suffered the injury in the team’s Game 1 loss to the Blackhawks.

“It’s one of these things that could be day-to-day or it might be a week. I’m not sure,” Wild head coach Mike Yeo said.

Yeo says that either Erik Haula, Sean Bergenheim, Jordan Schroeder, or Ryan Carter can fill in for Fontaine.

The 27-year-old Fontaine played in 71 games during the regular season, scoring nine goals while dishing out 22 assists.

Game 2 between the Wild and Blackhawks is Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET in Chicago.
