Walmart Shoplifting Case Turns Into Car Chase And Arrest

Bend, Ore. – Bend Police say a shoplifting incident at Walmart turned into a high speed chase this morning.

It happened shortly before 6 a.m. as police responded to the report of a theft happening at Walmart. The two suspects left on foot and then got into a car.

A Deschutes County Sheriff tried to stop the men and they then took off going as fast as 70 miles an hour in the area of the Bend Parkway and Powers road and Reed Market Road.

Police were able to arrest the suspects when they stopped the car and fled on foot. Police found several stolen items from Wal-Mart in the car as well as stolen property from Big R in Redmond.

29 year old Casey Finnell was taken to the Deschutes County Jail and he was processed for DUII. The passenger was 31 year Nicholas Butler. Both are from Bend.

Butler’s Charges: Theft I, Probation Violation
