Bend, Ore. – Century Drive was partially shut down for approximately one hour and was opened intermittently to allow limited traffic through the area. It was because of a suicidal driver.

Today at 12:09 p.m., the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a male driving a vehicle erratically on Century Drive, near milepost 6. The 911 caller stated the vehicle was all over the road and eventually pulled over.

The caller contacted the male and the male stated he was, “Going to kill himself.” The male then drove away westbound on Century Drive.

Police eventually caught up with the 29 year old man and were able to help him.

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) responded to the scene and assisted with traffic control.
