Sheridan Man With Mental Health History Is Missing

Depoe Bay, Ore. – Troopers are continuing their investigation into a missing Sheridan man whose vehicle was located at Cape Lookout State Park.

On May 19th, 2015 at 1:00pm troopers responded to the report of an abandoned vehicle located at the Cape Lookout State Park – day use area. Investigation revealed the registered owner, James SHOOK, age 49, of Sheridan had not been seen since May 13th, 2015 in Lincoln City. It was learned SHOOK has a history of mental illness and had recently been working in Depoe Bay and residing in Sheridan.

The vehicle, a 1999 Chevy Venture Van was removed from the scene and Tillamook County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue conducted a search of the immediate area.

OSP is asking for the public’s help for information on SHOOK’s whereabouts. Please call OSP Northern Command Center with information, 503-375-3555.

OSP was assisted by Tillamook County Sheriffs Office, Washington County Sheriff’s Office, US Coast Guard, the Netarts/Oceanside Fire Department, and the Oregon State Parks.
