Bend, Ore. – After eight years of recovery, Deschutes County is now in a period of economic growth. The jobs numbers are now above the peak that was reached before the Great Recession.
The State of Oregon Employment Department released the regional numbers today.
In Deschutes County the seasonally adjusted jobless rate last month, in April, fell to 5.6 percent. that is the lowest rate in Deschutes county since November of 2007.
In Crook County the unemployment rate for April was 8.3 percent, down from last month when it was 8.9 percent.
And in Jefferson County, April’s rate was 6.7 percent down from 7.3 percent in March.
