Klamath Falls, Ore. -The Klamath-Lake Forest Health Partnership invites local forest landowners to attend its next monthly meeting, where they will welcome new participants and discuss current efforts to promote forest health in Klamath and Lake Counties.
The meeting will be held in Bly on Thursday, July 9, from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Bly Ranger Station conference room.
Participants will also discuss efforts to implement all-lands, cross-boundary approaches to treating private land and simultaneous treatments on public land managed by the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management.
There will also be discussions about the partnership’s involvement with the National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy, a nationwide effort to work collaboratively amongst all stakeholders to promote resilient landscapes, fire-adapted communities, and safe and effective wildfire response (http://go.usa.gov/3wXaq).
The meeting will conclude with updates from the Klamath Watershed Partnership, Oregon Department of Forestry, OSU—Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, BLM, U.S. Forest Service and other Klamath-Lake Forest Health Partnership participants.
Since 1995, the Klamath-Lake Forest Health Partnership has been actively addressing forest health issues in Klamath and Lake Counties.
