(NEW YORK) — As relations open up between the United States and Cuba, so are business relations. Carnival Corporation is the latest travel company beginning to offer trips to Cuba, according to USA Today.
Beginning in May 2016, Carnival says it will launch seven–night, people-to-people cruise tours to Cuba. The cruise will originate out of Miami, bi-weekly.
Two weeks prior to Carnival’s announcement, Apple Vacations said it would begin people-to-people tours to the island.
Carnival has received approval from the U.S. Department of Treasury and Department of Commerce, but is still awaiting approval from the Cuban government.
USA Today reports that despite still awaiting approval from the Cuban government, American travelers can still reserve a spot with a $600 deposit. Fares will begin at just under $3,000 per person plus taxes and fees.
