Elks Win On The road

Wenatchee, Wa. – The Bend Elks defeated the Wenatchee Applesox 7-2 last night at Paul Thomas Sr. Stadium in Wenatchee, Washington.

The Elks took the early lead by putting a run on the board in the 1st and 3 more at the top the 2nd. The Applesox scored their only 2 runs of the game in the bottom of the 2nd off of Bend starter Jake Forrester. Forrester settled in after he allowed the 2 Sox runs, then held the Appplesox scoreless for the rest of this outing. Forrester went 8 complete innings, giving up 2 earned runs and 8 hits. He struck out 4 while walking 2, collecting his 2nd win and now has an ERA of 3.46 for the season. Daniel Bies came in to finish the game in the bottom of the 9th and retired all 3 Sox he faced, striking out one.

The Elks record is now 23-5, the best in the WCL. They now lead the South Division by 9.5 games over the Medford Rogues, who will be back in Bend at Vince Genna Stadium Friday for another 3 game series. The Elks swept the Rogues last weekend at Genna.
