UPDATE:
THE BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT SAYS A FIRE EARLY THIS MORNING AT A BEND BUSINESS WAS SET ON PURPOSE- AND THEY’VE ARRESTED A 47 YEAR OLD TRANSIENT ERIC MICHAEL NOELL.
BEND POLICE SAY THEY INTERVIEWED NOELL SHORTLY AFTER THE FIRE AT A BUSINESS ON SHEVLIN-HIXON DRIVE, AND HE ADMITTED TO BREAKING IN AND SETTING THE FIRE.
Noell was taken into custody without incident and was transported to St. Charles for medical treatment related to non-life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported.
The building was determined to be unoccupied at the time of the fire. BEND POLICE SAY The fire caused substantial damage to the building. Multiple business tenants were contacted by the property management company.

Bend, Ore. – The Bend Fire Department says early this morning crews responded to a reported fire at 185 SW Shevlin Hixon. Bend Police have arrested a 47 year old transient in connection with the fire.
The first arriving crews found the front of the 2 story commercial structure (an office building) on fire, with fire coming from the 1st floor under the balcony and extending up to the 2nd floor.
The crews were able to knock down the fire and stop its forward progress within 15 minutes of initial arrival.
