Tough Night For Bend Elks

Bend, Ore. – The Bend Elks dropped both games of last night’s doubleheader to the Bellingham Bells. Both games were 7 innings. The Bells took game 1 by a score of 4-3. Bellingham took an early lead with 2 runs in the first off of starter Riley Newman.

The Elks fought back in the 2nd and put 3 runs across the plate highlighted by a 2 run homer from Louis Wolf and a RBI single from Billy King.

Bend held the lead until the 5th when the first batter for the Bells was hit by a pitch. The next man to come to the plate for the Bells shot a double to right along with a throwing that error tied the game at 3 each.

The Bells took the lead for good after reliever Mac Gaul hit a batter then threw 2 wild pitches allowing the final Bells runners to score and take game one 4-3.Reliever Jake Forrester took the loss and is now 2-3 for the season. Andrew Kemmerer got the win for Bellingham, his 3rd of the season.
