Three Harley Davidson Drivers Involved In Crash On Huntington Road

La Pine, Ore. – This morning at approximately 11:19 am, Deschutes County Sheriff’s Deputies and La Pine Fire & Ambulance personnel responded to a motor vehicle crash on Huntington Road near Velvet Court. Initial report indicated several motorcycles involved with obvious injuries.

Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies determined there were three motorcycles and drivers (no passengers) involved. Several motorcyclists were travelling together, southbound on Huntington Road and planning to meet at a La Pine business.

As the motorcycles entered a section of curves just south of Velvet Court, all three drivers failed to negotiate a corner and left the roadway.

All three drivers were thrown from their motorcycles and sustained injuries. 56 year old Kenneth Gipson of Culver was transported by air ambulance with potentially serious injuries and drivers 59 year old Josephy Curci of Terrebonne and 67 year old Philip Emmitt of Redmond were transported by ground ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.

All drivers were wearing helmets and appropriate safety gear. There is no suspicion or evidence of alcohol involvement. Speed is believed to have been a contributing factor to the crash.
