Bend, Ore., – The Bend Fire Department responded to a deck on fire this morning on Sierra off of Boyd Acres. A passerby saw flames on the homes from deck. Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to keep the fire from spreading to the home. No one was home at the time of the fire.

Improperly disposed cigarettes appears to be cause of this fire.
This is the 2nd such fire this weekend. On Friday, fire crews responded to a similar fire at 1905 NW 5th St where an improperly disposed of cigarette ignited their deck. A neighbor spotted the fire and quickly called 911.
