La Pine Man Arrested For Allegedly Starting Fires At Bend Walmart

Bend, Ore. – Bend Police arrested 19 year old Travis William Kyle of La Pine after he allegedly started two fires inside of the Bend Walmart store on Monday.

Kyle is also an employee of the store. Bend Police responded at about 9:30 Monday night to the fires which were quickly put out by employees before police and fire arrived.

The fires were located in two separate areas of the store, one was in a shopping area of the store. The damage was limited to a few items.

The fires were started with a pocket lighter. Kyle was arrested on Arson I charges and taken to the Deschutes County Jail.

Police credit the quick action by Walmart workers in keeping the fires small.
