Traffic Stop Leads To Meth Bust

Eugene, Ore. – A traffic stop led to the seizure of 23 pounds of crystal methamphetamine Friday. According to Oregon State Police, a Trooper stopped a 2003 Honda Pilot for traveling 73 miles per hour in a posted 60 mile per hour speed zone on Interstate 5 near milepost 195 in Eugene.

During the contact the Trooper observed signs of criminal activity and with the assistance of a Springfield PD drug detection canine, a hidden compartment was located inside the vehicle. Approximately 24.4 pounds of crystal methamphetamine was seized.

The driver, Teri L Baker, age 55, of Kent, Washington was arrested and lodged at the Lane County Jail for Unlawful Possession and Delivery of Methamphetamine.

This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released when it is available.

Green Team student groups at Bend-La Pine Schools are working to reduce food waste throughout the district and the efforts are showing success. Student leaders, with the help of the sustainability department, have implemented waste audits, started
