(LOS ANGELES) — While it’s not his lightsaber, owning Luke Skywalker’s blaster would be pretty cool too, right? And your chance to do that is coming to an end this week.
Hollywood memorabilia dealer Nate D. Sanders is auctioning off the so-called “hero” pistol actor Mark Hamill used in The Empire Strikes Back. “Hero” means it’s the one seen in close-up shots, such as when Luke’s holding it. The so-called “DL-44 blaster” is made of fiberglass and modeled after a German World War I-era Mauser C96 pistol, with the addition of a scope and the silver flash suppressor at the end of the barrel. If you don’t want to pretend to be Luke Skywalker, you can fantasize about being Han Solo with it: it’s the same model Harrison Ford used for his blaster.
If you want it in your collection, you’d better act fast — the online auction ends this Thursday, January 28. You’d also better be prepared to pay big: Nate D. Sanders has put the opening bid at $200,000. Visit their website for more info, and photos.
