Prineville Man Arrested For Stealing, Crashing Car

Sisters, Ore. – A 22 year old Prineville man was arrested for stealing and crashing a car in Sisters. Authorities say Miguel Angel Molina Pacheco stole the vehicle around 6 am Saturday at a residence on E. Cascade Avenue as the owner was warming it up the gray 1997 Lincoln Continental her driveway.

“Deputies searched the immediate area for the vehicle and were initially unsuccessful.” Sgt. Doug Sullivan stated in a news release.

Around 6:15 am, Deschutes County 911 received a call from a citizen who happened upon a crash on Wilt Rd. near Camp Polk Rd. Deputies responded to the crash and learned this was the vehicle that had been reported stolen.

“The driver of the stolen vehicle failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a tree,” Sullivan said. “The driver then fled on foot before deputies arrived on scene. Deputies conducted a search of nearby properties and located the driver and he was arrested without incident.”

He was treated by Sisters Fire for minor injuries sustained in the crash and then transported to SCMC, Bend for further treatment. The driver was booked into Deschutes County Jail for Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, Reckless Driving and DUII.
