Redmond Mayor Recommends Boothroyd to Council

Redmond, Ore. – Redmond Mayor George Endicott is recommending local businesswoman Angela Boothroyd to the Redmond City Council.  Endicott made the recommendation at Tuesday night’s council meeting. If approved by councilors, Boothroyd would replace Heather Carlin who recently resigned because of personal health reasons.

The appointment would be effective immediately and ends when the term expires December 31, 2016.  Endicott says Boothroyd brings a wealth of financial and management experience to the position.

Boothroyd is a native Central Oregonian whose history of public service includes the Redmond Development Commission, the Board of Directors of the Redmond Chamber of Commerce & CVB and the Redmond Executive Association.  She was named Redmond Citizen of the Year in 2006.

“I am excited and enthusiastic about our community and the future of Redmond.  I look forward to working hard and doing my part to make this city a place we can all be proud to call home,” states Angela Boothroyd.

If approved, Angela Boothroyd’s appointment will fill the seat vacated by Councilor Heather Carlin, who resigned in late January due to personal health concerns.  “The unexpected circumstances around this transition are very sad to me.  The entire Council cares deeply for Heather Carlin and we admire her strength and resolve.  We will do all we can to stand with her through this fight,” states Mayor Endicott.

Carlin was originally appointed August 11, 2015 and at the time replaced Ginny McPherson who resigned in July 2015.
