March Forum Focuses on Bend’s Bumpy Roads

Bend, Ore. – Bend’s roads have taken a beating and accumulated $80 million worth of deferred street maintenance needs. A 5-cent per gallon fuel tax is on the March 8th ballot to fund repair and maintenance of city streets, bike-lanes, sidewalks, and curb ramps. If approved, an estimated $2.5 million annually will be generated from residents and tourists.

With such a heated topic, City Club of Central Oregon is bringing together City Council Member / Mayor Pro Tem, Sally Russell and City Council Member Victor Chudowsky for a special City Club Evening Forum to debate each side of the topic. We promise a lively debate with plenty of time for Q&A.

When:  March 1, 5pm-7pm (program begins at 5:30pm),

Where: St. Charles Center for Health and Learning.

To register, please visit www.cityclubco.org or call 541-633-7163.  Registration (closes at noon onThursday, February 25) is only $20 for members and $35 for non-members. Buffet dinner is included. Cash wine and beer bar available.
