Redmond Man Arrested For Stealing Car

Redmond, Ore. – A Redmond man is in custody after he allegedly stole a vehicle earlier in the morning. Redmond Police say they took a report of a stolen black 1997 Honda Civic.

About 15 minutes later, a Redmond Officer saw the car in the area of Umatilla Park.  A high risk traffic stop was conducted on this vehicle and the driver, Brian L. Wynn, 23, from Redmond was taken into custody.

Wynn was later booked into the Deschutes County jail for Unauthorized Use of  Motor Vehicle and Criminal Mischief.

This incident was separate from the earlier stolen car and pursuit. That suspect is still at large.  Both stolen vehicles were recovered and returned to their owners.

The Redmond Police Department is committed to improving the quality of life in Redmond and Central Oregon by addressing theft issues.  If anyone in the community has information about this incident, please contact the Redmond Police Department at (541)504-3400, or through the non-emergency dispatch number at (541) 693-6911.
