Bend, Ore. – Most health insurance carriers who sell individual policies in Oregon’s marketplace are proposing double digit increases for 2017, according to numbers released Tuesday.
Nine out of ten carriers selling individual policies want to increase their monthly premiums.
Moda Health Plan is proposing the highest rate increase at 32.3 percent, followed by Oregon’s Health CO-OP, at 32 percent.
The state’s Division of Financial Regulation will spend the next two months analyzing carriers’ rate requests to ensure they adequately cover costs without being too high or too low.
