Arcadia, LA. – May 23rd marks the 82th anniversary of the deaths of the most infamous couples the U. S. has ever known.
Bonnie and Clyde were shot to death on May 23, 1934 on Highway 154 in Bienville Parish right outside of Gibsland.
In the 30s, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow went on a crime spree that spanned several states and claimed about a dozen lives.
Many of those killed during the crime spree were police officers.
The law appeared to be one step behind Bonnie and Clyde until they came to the ArkLaTex.
There is a museum in Gibsland where the couple reportedly bought their last meal, and a festival is held there every year on the weekend closest to the May 23, 1934 anniversary date.
