Redmond Ore. – A Redmond teen and his girlfriend, both have been arrested on attempted murder charges, accused of injuring and trying to kill his mother at their Redmond home Thursday.
Dakota Ortwein and Reyanne West were arraigned Friday.
Neighbors were shocked to hear of the arrests, saying the couple used a baseball bat and pepper spray against Dakota Ortwein’s mother, Shasta Ortwein.
Oregon’s Measure 11 requires that teens aged 15-17 charged with attempted murder be prosecuted as adults in circuit court.
The case will go to a grand jury before their next court hearing Friday afternoon.
