This Weekend Kicks Off Summer Camping Season

Deschutes County, Ore. – Millions of people visit Oregon state parks year round.

This week, officials are getting ready as the Memorial day weekend kicks off the unofficial summer season.

Park officials will see a lot of people celebrating the three-day weekend outdoors, meaning campsites are going fast.

Park officials say you can book campgrounds online, and up to 19 days in advance.

Oregon State parks is currently hiring more staff to help deal with the 2.5 million people who visit the parks every year.
