A New Study Says Oregon’s Tourism Is Growing

Central Oregon – Tourists spent more money in Oregon in 2015 than in any year prior, and Central Oregon’s tourism economy has continued to grow.

The latest study was commissioned by Travel Oregon, and showed that visitors to the state generated 10.8 billion last year – that’s up $500 million or 4.8 percent from 2014.

According to the study outdoor activities generated the lowest amount of daily spending statewide per travel party — $137.

Fine dining led the way at $261.30, followed by shopping and cultural activities, which the study says reflects an emphasis on travel to urban areas.
