bend, Ore. – Officials have tested for lead in the drinking water in the Bend-La Pine school districts, and turned up no unsafe levels.
Schools across the country began testing their drinking water after the lead water crisis in Flint, Michigan.
In Portland, parents have accused the district of withholding test results that showed elevated lead levels in the water.
Tests at schools in Eugene, Gresham, and Beaverton also turned up elevated levels.
Earlier this month, the Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Department of Education recommended all school districts and child care facilities test for lead in their water.
