Central Oregon – As much as double digit increases are expected for people who buy their own health insurance in 2017.
State regulators released final prices Thursday.
Here in Central Oregon, the average rate increases on individual policies range from 9.8 percent to 32 percent.
For example, a 40-year-old living in Bend and buying a silver individual plan can expect to pay $414 to $492 per month.
In addition to higher prices, Central Oregonians will see fewer individual policy choices next year.
Only three carriers, BridgeSpan, Oregon’s Health CO-OP, and PacificSource Health Plans, will sell those policies on Oregon’s health insurance marketplace in Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties.
Individual policies sold outside the network include Regence Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oregon and Health Net.
However, those who purchase these policies can’t receive tax credit to pay their bills.
