Get Set for the Deschutes 20th Annual River Clean-Up

Bend , Ore. – The 20th Annual Deschutes River Clean-Up to collect trash from the waterway in Bend is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. August 6.

The upper Deschutes River Watershed Council will lead the effort at Riverbend Park.

Volunteers will remove debris from the river’s banks and scuba divers will collect trash from the river’s floor.

The council also wants people to take some selfies or photos of others caring for the river and post the shots to Facebook with the hashtag, #EnjoyProtect-Respect.

The volunteer with the most postings will win a prize.
