Armed Redmond Man Struck By Police Car

Redmond, Ore. An armed man who caused a short lockdown at St. Charles Redmond on Thursday afternoon was hit by a Redmond Police patrol car responding o the incident.

Redmond Police arrived at Canal Boulevard near the hospital at around 1 p.m., following multiple 9-1-1 reports of a man with a handgun waving it at passing motorists, according to Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers made contact with the man who was still armed. Sometime after that, a Redmond Police car struck the man, and police cold not say if it was intentional.

The suspect was seriously injured and taken to St. Charles Redmond.

No one else was injured.
