Bend, Ore. – An equipment failure on a main transmission line near Bend caused an outage that affected up to 16,500 Pacific Power customers at one point and lasted more than an hour Tuesday morning.
The outage began about 9:30 a.m. and affected downtown Bend as well the north and northeast sections of town.
Pacific Power crews immediately began patrolling for the cause of the outage. The failed equipment was soon located and replaced.
About 7,000 customers were returned to service at 10:10 a.m. and the remainder at 10:40 a.m.
