Crook County School District – Elevated Levels of Lead Found At School

Crook County, Ore. – Crooked River Elementary has discovered that water tests showed elevated levels of lead in one of the school’s water fixtures.

Of the 131 drinking fountains and kitchen faucets the district tested, only one was above the state’s guidelines for lead.

Crook County is the latest district in the area to release results from lead water testing.

Last month the State Board of Education approved a rule requiring districts to submit plans to test water for lead regularly.

Over the summer, Crook County tested all its schools for lead in the water except for its school in Brothers. That test was completed this week.
