Fire Destroys SE Bend Home

Bend, Ore. – A house, a car and a boat were destroyed in a fire in southeast Bend Saturday afternoon. Bend Fire and Rescue reported that the blaze was located at 272 SE Ventura Place, and began about 4 p.m.

When residents returned home they discovered smoke coming into the house from the garage.

Due to heavy fire and a downed power line, firefighters were forced to take a defensive approach, and were unable to save the structure.

Damage to the house, its contents, two cars and a boat was estimated at $360,000. The residents and their pets escaped without injury and are receiving temporary assistance from the Red Cross.
