Bend, Ore. – Bend Police are looking for a few good young men and women to join their ranks as a Bend Police Cadet.
What is a police cadet?
The police cadet program is designed to offer an introduction to law enforcement for young men and women interested in pursuing a career in this rewarding profession. The program provides mentorship, classroom instruction and hands-on training.
As a Bend Police Cadet, you will learn about the criminal justice system and the professional ethics applied to law enforcement. The cadets will be exposed to police work and training to include:
· Community Policing philosophy
· Ethics and decision-making
· Cultural awareness
· Crime scene control
· Firearms safety
· Report writing
The Bend Police Department Cadet program has certain requirements. The program is designed for people between the ages of 14-20 years of old. The department require people in the program to maintain a 2.5 GPA if the applicant is currently attending school.
