A Big Donation For Non-Profit Backpacks In Bend

Bend, Ore. – A program that supplies Bend-La Pine School District students with meals during non-school days just received a big cash donation.

100+ Women Who Care Central Oregon donated $26,500 to the nonprofit Backpacks in Bend last month.

The contribution will cover the majority of perishable food, which is given to kids to take home on weekends and school breaks.

The donation will cover the entire 2016-17 school year.

Backpacks In Bend benefits students in 23 Bend-La Pine schools.
