Fatality On 3rd Street – Pedestrian Struck And killed

Bend, Ore. – Saturday evening, a pedestrian was struck and killed on Southeast Third Street just north of Pinebrook Blvd.

The initial investigation determined that the pedestrian was crossing Third Street wearing dark clothing, according to Bend Police.

The pedestrian was struck by 19 year-old Cesar Eligio, of Bend. He was driving a Suburu hatchback driving northbound on Third Street. He is cooperating with authorities as the investigation continues.

The pedestrian was taken to St. Charles Bend, where he was later pronounced dead, according to Bend Police.

The name is being withheld, due to the nature of the investigation and until family is notified.

The investigation closed Third Street in both directions for six hours.
